What is HID?

HID stands for High Intensity Discharge. It refers to lighting technology that relies on an electrical charge to ignite xenon gas contained in a sealed bulb. The technology of HID automotive lamps is similar to that of common vapor-filled street lamps. HID lighting doesn't have a filament but instead creates light by igniting an arc between two electrodes. HID lights get their name from the intense white light produced by the electrical discharge. HID lamps are also called xenon lamps, referring to a gas inside the lamps. HID general lighting has been used for years in sports arenas and stadiums around the country and is quickly becoming an industry standard for automobiles.

Some of the advantages of our xenon HID kits include:

  • Our kits require less power to operate. They use approximately 35W of electricty, which is approximately half of traditional halogen lamps.
  • The average life span of an Xenon bulb is almost 3000 hours, which is 10 times more than conventional halogen lamps.
  • HID lamps have become cheap enough that anyone can afford them!
  • The output of brightness is 300% than conventional halogen lamps.
  • Convenient installation: Just replace the conventional halogen lamps, needn`t to remove any original parts.
